From Charlie is a west coast food project rooted in the belief that a good meal is never just a meal—it’s an offering, a gathering place, a way to make meaning.
Founded by Charlie Friesen, a chef, baker, and writer raised in a big, boisterous family, From Charlie draws on traditions of abundance and togetherness. Whether she’s catering a wedding in Whistler or hosting a private dinner in Vancouver, Charlie’s approach is always the same: ingredient-led and lovingly prepared.
Her cooking is inspired by the landscapes she calls home—the forests, the shorelines, the backyard gardens—and shaped by seasonal rhythms. A trained sourdough baker, Charlie often anchors her meals around bread: warm, crackling loaves that invite people to slow down and connect.
From Charlie offers catering for weddings, corporate events, and intimate dinner parties. We think of ourselves less as service providers and more as co-hosts: the kind who set the tone, smooth the edges, and make sure your guests feel genuinely welcomed.
We bring people together through food—beautiful, generous, and unfussy—and we believe in the power of shared meals to nourish far more than just hunger.
Based in Vancouver and the Sea to Sky, and available wherever you gather.
